Ruidoso July 27th-29th Sneak Peek

by Lyn Foley on July 13, 2012

The Ruidoso Art Festival is coming up July 27th – 29th. This show is one of my favorites. It is held indoors in a nice convention center, and the quality of the artwork (mine included – booth #40) is outstanding.  The weather, which is usually cool, is an added bonus. For you Texas folks, a trip over to New Mexico will provide a nice break. Make plans now to attend. I know you will enjoy the show, and discover some wonderful art.

Here is a sneak peek for those of you who are unable to attend,  or  just can’t wait to see my new work.   You may purchase these necklaces now (click the photos) if you want. I’ll make something else before we leave.

First up is an animal print necklace.  I enjoy making the animal beads, so I continue to create jewelry using them in different combinations. This necklace has  my wire scribble beads along with the animal prints. It is 23 inches long, for $315.

Next is a Grafitti Bubble Necklace. After I make the hollow beads in a solid color, I “draw” the designs using small glass stringers (similar in size to angel hair pasta). The marks I make melt into the base bead as I work it in the torch flame. The result? A fun, colorful necklace that you will enjoy wearing with a wide variety of outfits. This one, 19 inches long, and surprisingly lightweight, is $435.

I’ll continue posting new items  up until 2 days before the show, which starts Friday, July 27th.  Look for the new entries in the “Jewelry Shop” portion of my website,  listed under the category “What’s New?”

FYI: My website has developed a few glitches. Gurus who know are working on it, and the site should return to it’s usual look soon.
