A New Year, & a New Show – The Earring Slam Jam

by Lyn Foley on January 10, 2013

Happy New Year!

Have you made your resolutions and/or goals for 2013? Usually Jim and I get together on New Years Day, acknowledge our accomplishments for the previous year, and make a new plan – both individually and as a team.  We are late this year. I’m promising right now that we will write down our goals before the end of January.

Jim and I  are, however, working on jewelry for our first event of 2013: The Earring Slam Jam.  Eighteen Hands Gallery in Houston invites 10 artists to show only earrings, only handmade, and nothing over $75.  I’m in the show this year, which is one day only, Saturday, January 26th from 11 AM until 4 PM.   Go on over to the Eighteen Hands website for the address and more information.

The rain in Round Top  has encouraged me to stay at my torch, cozy and warm. So far I’ve created 32 new earring pairs, and  beads are lined up waiting to be put together. Quite a few of the new pairs are now listed on my site, so follow the earrings link to see them. Do you have any earrings you would like to have for the new year? (You know you can’t be too thin, have too much money, or too many earrings.) If there is a color or style you want, let me know. Leave a comment and I’ll see what I can do. I’m using mixed metals, more copper and gold tones than I have in the past, – and also have made some interesting pairs that don’t match. No photos of those yet, but here’s a bit of a sneak peek of some of the others:
