Necklaces under construction for Fayetteville Art Walk

by Lyn Foley on April 20, 2013

Art Walk in Fayetteville, Texas is coming up fast. May 4th and 5th is only two weeks away. Today I am going to show you part of my creative process, and save the actual necklace photos until later.

In March a green/teal/aqua bubble necklace I made in 2011 came in for repair. Seeing the necklace was like visiting with an old friend and  I was so pleased to see how good it looked.  Why not make another similar necklace? After all, emerald green is the Pantone Color of the Year. So, I selected some  green glass rods, and went to work making bubbles and disks.

Here are some of the beads I made while thinking of the 2011 necklace:

I choose hollow and disk beads, and here they are, arranged on my bead board, waiting to be strung into a necklace.

The necklace will echo the idea of the original, using new, different beads. I’ll finish the stringing  before Art Walk, along with new earrings. I’m also  playing with wire, and making wire links to mix with my glass. I’ll have a wide selection of $29 pendants (each one different) that will be perfect for a  simple, but very special, Mother’s Day gift. Hope you can make it to Art Walk  for a fun weekend of art shopping in the beautiful Texas countryside!
