Dallas Arboretum: Artscape, A Fine Arts Fair in the Gardens

by Lyn Foley on April 10, 2015

Ahh! Spring in Texas, those few days  of blissful not-too-hot, not-too-cold weather. The flowers, wild and otherwise, are bursting at our roadside seams, breezes are blowing, and I grabbed some time outside in the splendor.  My vegetable and flower gardens are planted – and sprouts are even up! I am dreaming of tasty tomatoes and  dramatic zinnys.

Meanwhile, the thousands of Antique Week people have vacated my tiny town of Round Top,  and I am relishing a return to quiet times, and  to enjoying my torch work every morning. New beads and jewelry are sprouting up around my studio, like the flowers and veggies in my garden.  I’ll have a lot to show you by the time  Artscape opens on April 24th  and continues Saturday the 25th, and Sunday the 26th.

The Arboretum’s gardens are sure to be spectacular (usually the tulips are in full bloom), so if you attend  the show  you’ll enjoy a feast of art and flowers.

Since I am busy making the jewelry I have not photographed  my new styles – yet. I’ll give you a sneak peek next week. Meanwhile, here is a necklace I created recently.
