Take a Drive to the Edom Festival of the Arts

by Lyn Foley on October 4, 2015

Today in Round Top is about as perfect as it gets in Texas, a triple wow day. It is 78 degrees, a caressing breeze blows, clear skies shine on Cardinals and Chickadees flitting from oak trees to the feeder, squirrels are scampering & chattering, butterflies alight on my zinnias, Chica my cat is lounging in a shaft of sunlight, Pandora is playing my favorite tunes, and Jim is relaxing in his favorite chair after washing the breakfast dishes. Ahh , such a day, what a blessing. I get the feeling this gorgeous weather is going to continue – and with any luck at all you’ll have such a day to take a drive in the Texas countryside over to Edom (near Tyler, Texas) a couple of weekends from now on October 17th and 18th for the Edom Festival of the Arts.

Edom is one of those magic small Texas towns, similar to Round Top. Lots of artists live in the area and have some nice shops on the Main Street selling their wares. Like Round Top, the main street  of Edom is easy to find. Several places serve good homemade food – and during the Art Festival you’ll find even more wonderful food, and even more handmade items. Hearing and seeing some GREAT live music all day long on a stage at the show is a real bonus. Check out the music lineup over at the Edom Festival of the Arts Facebook page.

I’ll be there, loving the music, and top-tapping while selling my jewelry. Come on over – give yourself a treat – and while you are enjoying your day in the country, see my new works and all the other special items we Texas treasures will have created.

See photo peek below. Of course, knowing me, I’ll make at least ten more pieces in the intervening 2 weeks. Watch for updates.
